Reno 1868 FC (4-3-5) remain undefeated in its last eight USL matches following a 2-1 victory over San Antonio FC on Saturday.
Jerry van Ewijk continued his hot streak with a goal in the 39th minute off of a precision pass from Mo Thiaw. This was his fifth goal in the last four games, including U.S. Open matches.
San Antonio FC’s Owayne Gordon would later equalize in the 47th minute off of a corner kick.
The final goal of the game came via Mo Thiaw in the 61st minute. The goal came off of a deflected shot and brought San Antonio FC’s five match unbeaten streak to an end.
The win puts Reno at eighth place in the Western Conference with 17 points. The football club is now three points ahead of San Antonio FC and tied with the Colorado Switchbacks.
Reno 1868 FC’s next match will be at Taft Stadium against Oklahoma City Energy FC on June 2. Energy FC is currently 1-3-1 in its last five games and is in 16th place in the Western Conference.
